Aim High, My Angel Girl

Two weeks ago I was cracking eggs into a bowl one-handed, and the twins were sitting at the island watching me. Payton said, "Wow Mommy, you sure are good at breaking those eggs!". I said, "Well, I have been doing it for a long time. When you girls are my age you will be just as good or better at it.". Payton was nodding her head as if I had muttered a great truth, but it was Brooklyn that sent me into hysterics. My sweet Brooklyn Beth gave me a courtesy giggle, and then laid this bombshell; "Mommy, you're silly! Remember that I am going to be a princess when I grow up? When I want eggs I will just say "Hey guys, Make me some eggs.""!!!!!

How's that for career planning? =))

Then, a couple of days ago we were driving home, and Payton commented on a house she liked. Brooklyn pipes in from the back seat with, "When I grow up and you want to visit ME, just look for the big pink castle out in the country." She said this with all of the precious seriousness of a five year old.

You know what all of this got me thinking about? Brooklyn Beth WILL have all of that one day. (well maybe not the egg "guys") She IS a princess, because she is a daughter of the Most High King, and He knows the desires of my little girls heart. I think there may just be LOADS of pink castle's in God's country once we all get to spend eternity in the Kingdom of Heaven, because my angel surely isn't the only 5 year old with such lofty aspirations!! =)

P.S. Payton's dreams for the future include Sky-Diving. As the instructor. =0
